The Council on Economic Education, formerly the National Council on Economic Education, was founded in 1949. Its mission: to help all students develop economic ways of thinking and problem solving that they can use in their lives as consumers, savers, members of the workforce, responsible citizens, and effective participants in the global economy.

As Georgia's national partner, the Council for Economic Education:
  • publishes and distributes books, teacher strategies and resources for classroom use. CEE materials are the state-of-the-art in economic education.
  • develops curricula for teaching economics
  • works to ensure that a solid understanding of basic economics is part of every American youngster's education
