2017 Workshops

Teachers, before you head out for the holidays, check out our 2017 workshop offerings. The Council has 52 workshops scheduled between January and May.

One new workshop is “Using the Internet to Teach International Trade” for grades 6-12: This hands-on Internet–based workshop focuses on using websites which engage the learner in the location of international data, building tables, creating maps, designing lessons, and assessing learning. Workshops are scheduled for February 17 (Muscogee County/Columbus), March 1 (Coweta County/Newnan), March 8 (Valdosta State University), March 24 (University of North Georgia/Gainesville) and April 12 (Berry College/Rome).

Also this spring, the Council is offering a workshop for AP Macroeconomics teachers. AP-certified trainer and reader Gary Petmecky will present various tips, content training, and test-taking strategies for the AP Macroeconomics test. This workshop will be held February 8 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Note: AP Micro training will be conducted in the fall.
