Economic Education Program of Excellence

Purpose
  • To identify and provide recognition for outstanding economic programs in Georgia
  • To encourage the growth and development of effective programs in economic education
Definition

An exemplary program is a currently implemented economics program of outstanding quality based on a curriculum framework consistent with the National Council on Economic Education Curriculum Framework and Georgia Council on Economic Education guidelines. GCEE Programs of Excellence will recognize complete economic programs (no single grade levels or single courses) which encourage articulation, balance of content, a variety of teaching strategies, and the involvement of teachers, students, and the community.

Selection Committee
Selection committee members will be selected from the Georgia Council on Economic Education, Georgia Department of Education, social studies specialists, university professionals, and other appropriate economic educators.
