Personal Financial Literacy

Georgia has one of the highest rates of bankruptcy in the nation. Millions of American families lack even basic banking accounts. Half of us are not putting enough away to maintain our standard of living after retirement.

The most useful skills many students learn are those that apply to their own economic lives: how to understand credit cards, set a budget and balance a checkbook, for example.

The Georgia Council offers several programs to help teachers bring financial literacy into the classroom. Browse our materials.
