The Georgia Economics Teacher of the Year

Purpose

To recognize classroom teachers (elementary, middle and secondary) who have made outstanding contributions to the teaching of economics in the public or independent schools of Georgia.

Criteria

Nominees must be teachers in the public and independent schools of Georgia who are either teaching a course in economics or integrating economics into other courses at any grade level, K- 12. Teachers may be nominated by themselves or another individual. Teachers should have demonstrated:

  • a knowledge of economics appropriate to the grade level or courses being taught.
  • an ability and willingness to use a variety of appropriate methods and resources in teaching economics.
  • enthusiasm for the teaching of economics.
  • creativity in the teaching of economics.
