The overall focus of this new edition of the Grade 8 workshop produced by GCEE and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta will be in examining key events in Georgia’s history through the lens of economic understanding. Teachers will learn how to help their students see the impact of entrepreneurship on the founding of our state and how the allocation of critical resources affected Georgia before and during the Civil War. They will also learn to teach how we became an economic superpower post-Civil War because of a shift to industrialization.
