Does your your school or system have an excellent economic education program?

  • offers a balanced content.
  • encourages a variety of teaching strategies that involve teachers, students, and the community.

The process

To nominate a school or a system, please fill out the nomination form and follow the instructions for the nomination packet. All materials are due December 15. A selection committee will review the nomination packets and finalists will be required to host the committee for a one-day on-site visit.

The reward

Program of Excellence winners are recognized at the Georgia Council’s annual meeting in May. A description of the winning program will be highlighted in the Council’s materials and publications.

The fine print

The Council reserves the right to cancel the competition if there are insufficient numbers of nominees. All submission materials become the property of the Georgia Council on Economic Education and will not be returned.

Program of Excellence selection committee members will be selected from the Georgia Council on Economic Education, the Georgia Department of Education, social studies specialists, university professionals, and other appropriate economic educators.
