Trade, Resources, and Daily Life in Early America (Eatonton)
Grades 3-5
Tuesday, April 21, 2026
11:00am - 4:00pm
In conjunction with the Smithsonian’s Voices and Choices exhibit at the Georgia Writers Museum in historic Eatonton, this workshop invites elementary educators to explore how resources, choices, and trade shaped daily life in early America. Participants will examine how people in different regions used what was available to them, traded for what they could not or would not make themselves, and built communities through economic decision-making. As part of this special experience, teachers will also enjoy early access to the Smithsonian exhibit before it opens to the public, making this a meaningful opportunity to connect classroom learning to a major national exhibition.
Materials, lunch, and substitute reimbursement provided.
