Over 110 elementary teachers from across the state of Georgia met virtually at the beginning of their summer vacation to participate in the first-ever K-5 Economic Education Expo. GCEE partnered with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy, and the Georgia Department of Education to provide these dedicated teachers a fast-paced professional development opportunity taking place June 14-15, 2021. These days were filled with engaging presentations from accomplished classroom teachers and notable social studies leaders. This event also marked the grand premiere of Executive Director Mike Raymer’s children’s book, Earl & Starla Want ALL the Fishy Treats. One teacher said, “It takes a lot to be worth two full days away from my family in the summer.  With GCEE and the GaDOE social studies team leading, I knew it would be worth my time!  I was not disappointed! The lessons, resources, and applications learned will have a direct impact on my students. Thank you!”
